Salt therapy is a 100% natural, non invasive, medication free treatment for horses of all disciplines. Salt minerals are vaporised into the air with the aims of replicating a microclimate similar to a salt cave. Through regular treatments it aims to target breathing / respiratory conditions as well as improving coat condition and skin conditions. The vapour machine is used to disperse salt particles into the air. The salt minerals are then inhaled right down into the small airways of the lungs, removing dust particles and/ or pollen from the alveolar tract. The minerals will also help release a layer of mucus and stimulate the micro hairs within the lungs allowing it to be removed from the airways easier. This decreases the inflammation, bacterial growth and allergens within the lungs resulting in a more efficient breathing system. 

Treatments last for 20 minutes at a time, with a recommendation of three to five sessions dependent on the individual horse. They can be carried out inside the horse's stable, however it is recommended that the stable can be as enclosed as possible in order to get the most out of the treatment.
